While local pet funeral homes may be able to offer traditional cremation, alkaline hydrolysis preserves 20+% more bone fragment.  Aquamation uses 90% less energy than cremation and no direct emissions of harmful gases or mercury. In comparison to traditional burial, the stages of natural decomposition may take up to 25 years. HeavenLee Companion Aquamation takes your loved one through this process overnight, getting them home to you as soon as possible.

           AQUAMATION

The scientific name for this process is alkaline hydrolysis. It is the same process that occurs as part of nature’s course when a body is laid to rest in the soil.

We use a combination of gentle water flow, temperature, and alkalinity to accelerate the breakdown of organic material. This process takes a total of 20 hours to complete. At the end of the process, the inorganic materials of the bone remain. This is pure calcium phosphate. The mineral remains are carefully dried and processed into a powder for return to the family. This processing step is identical to that which is performed with flame cremation. Once you have received your loved one’s ashes, there are many ways to continue your journey. Anything you can do with cremation ashes you can also do with Aquamation ashes.

By putting your trust in HeavenLee Companion Aquamation, you can rest easy knowing we’ll treat them as well as you did. If your pet passes away at home, wrap them in a blanket, lie them somewhere cool and give us a call. If your pet is being put down, let your veterinarian know that you have made arrangements for aquamation and HeavenLee Companion Aquamation will come pick them up, no further worries on your end.

Remember, if your veterinarian does not offer pet aquamation services, you can still request the services from any other veterinary.  Get in touch with HeavenLee Companion Aquamation through 256-887-6008 for the best aftercare services for your beloved pet so you can honor their life in a dignified and eco-friendly way.

Who We Are

HeavenLee Companion Aquamation is a family owned companion animal cremation service located in Cullman County, Alabama.
We are the Lee family. My husband Shane and I have been married for 5 years and have 3 wonderful children, 2 girls Charlie Anne and Eliana, and one boy, Harper.
Shane is a mixed animal Veterinarian here in Cullman where he has been practicing for 14 years.
My name is Amberly. I have been a registered nurse for 6 years now with my latest focus being in Hospice care.
We spend our free time taking care of all of our animals here on the farm. We share our house with a cat, Steve and 4 dogs; two Labrador Retrievers, Hershel and Ruger, one Collie, Callie, and one blind Great Dane, Tank. We also have 9 cows, 2 donkeys, 2 sheep, 6 goats, 2 ducks, and 2 Emus.
In our combined professions, we really wanted to help out our fellow animal lovers with a process that everyone will eventually have to face. What to do when our pets pass away. Choices here have been limited to either burial at home, mass burial, or typical fire cremation. After learning about water cremation, also known as Alkaline Hydrolysis or aquamation, we felt as this environmental friendly alternative was something we wanted to offer in our area. Offering no fire, no loss of ashes, and no chance of cross contamination from crematory clean out, this method offers a more natural process resulting in solely your family member’s ashes returned in a quiet, peaceful, and respectful way.
